Nyonsolive Nyons Extra Virgin Olive Oil AOC is an ultra-smooth olive oil made from the Nyons olive, the name given to the Tanche olives grown in and around the town of Nyons, in the Drôme. Golden-green in color, this oil is easily recognized by its aroma of granny smith apples and nuts. It is a wonderfully soft oil, with no trace of bitterness.
Grown in the PDO orchards of the Nyons region and harvested at full maturity, the “Tanche” black olive variety stands out for its vibrant natural aromas and succulent flesh. The crisp flavours of green apple, dried fruits, and hazelnuts burst forth on the palate, complemented by the velvety richness of butter. While it does not reveal bitterness, Nyons olive oil does possess a hint of pungency.
“The Nyons black olive is widely acclaimed as the finest black olive globally.”
Olive oil from Nyons was, in 1994, the very first olive oil in France to be awarded the coveted A.O.C., or Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (the French system for designating and controlling the geography and quality of wines and other products).
This oil is extra virgin, made from the first cold pressing. For optimal preservation, keep in a cool, dark cupboard away from the sunlight, both before and after opening.
